Gov’t Can Order Employers on Salaries and Fringe Benefits

The federal government does not have the constitutional authority (read “legal authority”) to order employers to provide a perk for their employees.  However, those in the federal government, empowered by the unchallenged ability to order employers to pay certain wages (minimum wage), now feel empowered to order employers to provide certain fringe benefits (medical insurance).  Salaries and fringe benefits should be left to negotiations between employer and employee.

When America Was Brave – The Rescue of Roger Locher

Before this president, when the United States was still the home of the brave, we did what we could to rescue those in distress. Watch this excellent video (8:44 minutes) about the efforts undertaken to rescue Roger Locher. This is the courage our present administration lacks entirely.

Remember Benghazi!

“Remember the Alamo!”  The battle cry at the Battle of San Jacinto.  The Alamo–where courageous men fought an unwinnable battle to the very end.

There is no courage to be found in our current administration.  The coward that currently holds the position of commander-in-chief left his men to die in the “Battle of Benghazi.”  If I were an ambassador in a dangerous region, or even a military man posted abroad, I would have to wonder now, if I came under attack, would I be left to die, too?

So November 6th, when you go to cast your ballot…

Catholic Church is Best Friend of Homosexuals

“The Church is the best friend of homosexuals, both because she tells them they are made in God’s image and have intrinsic dignity and rights and are called to be saints, and because she is the only social force left that insists on moral absolutes—so when they sin against themselves she says NO, just as she does to heterosexuals who sin against themselves sexually, but when others sin against them she says NO also.

No one else dares to say NO. She speaks up for everyone, including homosexuals.”

Death Threats OK with Twitter

In an e-mail sent to Twitter about @KillZimmerman and threats of murder, Twitter basically said it’s not against their rules.  Below is the message sent to Twitter and the reply:

Judge: You don’t have a right to provide for yourself

Want to get pissed off at your government?  The following information comes from a news article and recounts the absolute insanity of a Wisconsin judge!  Here is part of his ruling about whether people have the right to keep their own cows and use the milk from their own cows:

(1) no, plaintiffs do not have a fundamental right to own and use a dairy cow or a diary (sic) herd;

(2) no, plaintiffs do not have a fundamental right to consume the milk from their own cow;

(3) no, plaintiffs do not have a fundamental right to board their cow at the farm of a farmer;

(4) no, the Zinniker plaintiffs’ private contract does not fall outside the scope of the state’s police power;

(5) no, plaintiffs do not have a fundamental right to produce and consume the foods of their choice;

Regarding another lawsuit, this one in Iowa: “Attorneys for the federal government have argued in a lawsuit still pending in federal court in Iowa that individuals have no ‘fundamental right’ to obtain their food of choice.”

“There is no ‘deeply rooted’ historical tradition of unfettered access to foods of all kinds,” states the document signed by U.S. Attorney Stephanie Rose, assistant Martha Fagg and Roger Gural, trial attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice.

“Plaintiffs’ assertion of a ‘fundamental right to their own bodily and physical health, which includes what foods they do and do not choose to consume for themselves and their families’ is similarly unavailing because plaintiffs do not have a fundamental right to obtain any food they wish,” the government has argued.

“The interest claimed by plaintiffs could be framed more narrowly as a right to ‘provide themselves and their families with the foods of their own choice,'” the government document states. But the attorneys say that right doesn’t exist.

Happy Independence Day!

This Independence Day, I thought I would simply paste the text of the Declaration of Independence into my post.  Most U. S. citizens have not read it.  Unfortunate.  Our nation was founded with this document.  Every American should read it at least once to know what is in it.  If you read this, take time to read the U. S. Constitution, too.  Find out what the 18 things the federal government is authorized to do.  Everything else is supposed to be left to the states and to the people.  You’ll discover the federal government really is out of control and has become way too big for its britches.

Without further ado:

The unanimous Declaration of the thirteen united States of America
When in the Course of human events it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. He has refused to pass other Laws for the accommodation of large districts of people, unless those people would relinquish the right of Representation in the Legislature, a right inestimable to them and formidable to tyrants only.

He has called together legislative bodies at places unusual, uncomfortable, and distant from the depository of their Public Records, for the sole purpose of fatiguing them into compliance with his measures.

He has dissolved Representative Houses repeatedly, for opposing with manly firmness his invasions on the rights of the people.

He has refused for a long time, after such dissolutions, to cause others to be elected, whereby the Legislative Powers, incapable of Annihilation, have returned to the People at large for their exercise; the State remaining in the mean time exposed to all the dangers of invasion from without, and convulsions within.

He has endeavoured to prevent the population of these States; for that purpose obstructing the Laws for Naturalization of Foreigners; refusing to pass others to encourage their migrations hither, and raising the conditions of new Appropriations of Lands.
